Key Account Manager
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Key Account Manager to play a pivotal role in our newly launched online marketplace in Nigeria. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and engaging with potential online sellers, guiding them through the onboarding process, and nurturing long-lasting relationships to drive business growth.
You would particularly take ownership of the following tasks:
- Identify, target, and approach potential online sellers within Nigeria to expand the marketplace’s seller base.
- Initiate contact with prospective sellers through various communication channels, including emails, calls, and social media, to introduce the benefits of joining our platform.
- Lead the onboarding process for new sellers, guiding them through registration, product listing, pricing strategies, and order management.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as marketing, product, and customer support, to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for sellers.
- Provide personalized assistance to sellers, addressing their inquiries, and concerns, and providing solutions to enhance their success on the platform.
- Analyze seller performance metrics and identify growth opportunities to help sellers optimize their listings and boost sales.
- Regularly update and maintain accurate records of interactions and progress using CRM & Project Management tools or databases.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the online marketplace ecosystem, staying informed about industry trends and competitors to provide valuable insights to sellers.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to coordinate promotional activities, campaigns, and initiatives that drive seller engagement and marketplace growth.
- Represent the company at industry events, webinars, and seminars to promote the platform and establish strong industry relationships.
Qualifications & Competence:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s is a plus.
- Proven experience in sales, account management, or business development, preferably in the e-commerce or online marketplace industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and persuasive abilities to convince potential sellers to join the platform.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in using CRM & PM software (Jira, ClickUp, Asana etc), Google and Microsoft Office Suite, and collaboration tools.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data to provide actionable insights to sellers.
- Self-motivated and adaptable to a fast-paced startup environment.
- Familiarity with the Nigerian e-commerce landscape and online selling practices is a strong advantage.
